The SGM25715 negative hot-swap controller features highly robust system protection capabilities, rendering it suitable for hot-swap applications involving live power supplies or other energized systems.
The SGM25715 supports inrush current control to limit voltage droop and transients in the system. It features programmable current limiting and power limiting functions, ensuring the external series N-Channel MOSFET operates within its Safe Operating Area (SOA). The SGM25715 provides comprehensive circuit protection and indication functions. It monitors the external MOSFET for over-current and over-voltage conditions. The under-voltage lockout, over-voltage lockout and fault detection time are all programmable.
The PGD pin indicates whether the device is in a normal operating state by comparing the input and output voltages. If a fault condition occurs, the internal fault detection timer is activated. Upon timer expiration, the SGM25715L latches off, and the SGM25715R restarts following a fixed duty cycle period.
The SGM25715 is available in a Green MSOP-10 package.
