18.5V Output, 5.3A (MAX) Programmable Current Limit Synchronous Boost Converter with Load Disconnect

The SGM6616A is a synchronous Boost converter with an integrated load disconnected function and a wide 2.3V to 9V input voltage range. The device also supports 4.0V to 18.5V programmable output voltage and 1.1A to 5.3A programmable peak current limit. At light loads, the pulse frequency modulation (PFM) mode and forced pulse width modulation (FPWM) mode are applied to improve the efficiency. At medium to heavy loads, the device operates in fixed frequency PWM mode. It has a 3ms (TYP) built-in soft-start time to minimize the inrush current.

The device integrates various protection features such as under-voltage lockout (UVLO), over-voltage protection (OVP) and thermal shutdown.

The SGM6616A is available in a Green TQFN-3×3-16L package.
